Numerical Study on Transportation of Cemented Paste Backfill Slurry in Bend Pipe

With the development of coal mining, use elbows has diversified forms underground backfill pipelines, which inevitably complicated transportation characteristics filling slurry in pipeline, thus affecting entire backfilling system. The objective this study is to numerically investigate running state cemented paste (CPB) and coarse particles at different velocities by transporting bend pipes. To better understand CPB a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model—mixture model was developed slurry. volume distribution under pipe types flow rates, as well velocity profiles positions, were simulated analyzed, pressure losses compared. results show that varies with tube type, effect on position wall changes increase velocity. high-speed zone will move toward outer elbow loss vertical–horizontal pipeline larger than horizontal–vertical difference section. This provides theoretical meaningful reference for operations bends.
